Emergency Food Storage & Survival Handbook
Author: Peggy Layton Three Rivers Press 2002
Peggy has done a great job with this book, it’s one that I recommend to my readers if they are just getting started. I would also add that more advanced preppers or those that have invested in long term storage food, read what she has done with those foods. She has taken that and given great ideas and thoughts for preparing them.
The book covers basic concepts, planning and execution during a variety of emergency situations. Reinforced is the concept that we plan for all emergencies, not just one. The first part of the book has good information on prepping in general, the last 2/3 of the book is on food.
The entire book reads very easily. Information is accurate and easy to understand. It’s on my bookshelf and should be on yours as well!
