We lived through all of the hype and ads to see another presidential election and we finally get to cast a vote. Now it comes down to the people’s say. If you look and study the early years of our country, we had to not only ask, but demand that a person please accept our nomination for a PUBLIC OFFICE and the person looked at that duty reluctantly as PUBLIC SERVICE. Now, these people would kill to get into office or as I view it, the PUBLIC DOLL. The huge economy called ELECTION is about over, make no bones, it alone does create thousands and thousands of jobs, for a time.
Now our vote used to mean more than it does now hence, the popular vote vs the electoral college. I think we may see the same thing this time around, I mean neither candidate is getting more than a slight majority. Which means that they barely wanted you over the other guy, that’s a win? As a candidate, I would have to wonder why I didn’t have the support of say….70%? So we can’t really decide because we have not found someone that we all agree is the best for the country, if we just stand there we get what they give us and nothing more.
I have made no bones that I support Ron Paul, I believe in the libertarian view that live people alone to live their lives. Less government and remembering that WE are the Government, not the politicians. So this leaves me with a vote and a decision on where to place it, not voting is not an option, it is our duty. We can fight for another candidate or system but we still need to raise our voice to the game being played NOW. Let’s not look at game film next week to see what we could have done last week, we gotta game, lets frickin play! So we have two choices, Obama or Romney.
I started to list pro’s and con’s for each and then it came down to one item for each. Obama is a progressive Socialist, Romney is a progressive Conservative. So simply, which follows the constitution the closest? Since I can’t play the game I want now, I need to play the game closest to my own…. This country was not founded on Socialism, we fought it all over the world and continue to do so. So my choice is simple….Romney.
I had been a republican for many, many years but realized that we get the same crap from each party, with some differences which make up the choice. We must remember they are just politicians and they can’t help themselves. Crack whores can’t see anything difference until WE show them a different game to play. We need to help these poor soles if it means hitchin em up like a 20 mule team….WE the people have to LEAD THEM! Our founding fathers warned us of the two party system, it would be the end of the country, we need another game, like Ron Paul. We need a shit disturber, someone who looks at what HAS to be done and rolls up his or her sleeves and get it done.
Here in Nevada, a swing state I feel like we are on stage and up for sale….Final thought, at from Benjamin Franklin.
The deliberations of the Constitutional Convention of 1787 were held in strict secrecy. Consequently, anxious citizens gathered outside Independence Hall when the proceedings ended in order to learn what had been produced behind closed doors. The answer was provided immediately. A Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, “Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?” With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded, “A republic, if you can keep it.” (Benjamin Franklin)
Keep fighting, Keep demanding and Keep watching!
